Abrumada por el éxito de la publicación, que mientras esto se escribe ha recibido 7,8 millones de visitas, la revista de actualidad estadounidense ha refinado sus 100 mejores películas ('All-TIME 100 movies') desde 1923, el año de fundación de la cabecera.

Así intentan responder a las grandes expectativas y el aluvión de críticas que despertó la lista elaborada por Josh Macht y Mark Coatney en colaboración con toda la redacción de Time.
La nueva versión ha cambiado veinte títulos y contiene menciones especiales para las mejores bandas sonoras, los grandes 'vicios inconfesables' y las interpretaciones más memorables.
